Dear Senator Murkowski,
What the hell were you thinking?
You had the opportunity to show courage and principle—but instead, you handed Trump a win on a silver platter with that grotesque “Big Beautiful Bill.” You admitted yourself it was “awful,” “agonizing,” and riddled with problems, yet you still voted yes. Why? Because you got a couple scraps for Alaska? That’s not leadership—that’s bargaining with a political arsonist while the rest of the country burns.
You don’t get to distance yourself from the consequences after helping light the match.
This bill is a disaster:
• It guts programs Alaskans depend on—healthcare, food assistance, education.
• It balloons the deficit with zero accountability.
• And it’s wrapped in performative MAGA nonsense instead of real solutions.
You know better. Or at least you used to.
You once suggested that the Republican Party left you. But this vote? This vote proves you never really left it at all.
You’re going to have to live with this vote. And so will the rest of us.
Disappointed doesn’t even begin to cover it.
