It has come to my attention that Tulsi Gabbard, a former U.S. Representative from Hawaii, has been spreading Russian disinformation and appearing frequently on Russian state media outlets like RT and Sputnik. This represents a clear danger to our national security interests as Russian propaganda channels are able to launder disinformation and sow further division in our society through providing Gabbard a platform. Her nomination for Director of National Intelligence is dangerous and disgraceful to this country, and a betrayal of all Americans. I urge you to speak out against this unacceptable conduct and use your authority to investigate any potentially illegal coordination between Gabbard and Russian state media actors. Allowing the malign influence of adversaries like Russia to gain a foothold through American public figures puts us all at risk. Please do not confirm this nomination.
