Investigate Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano's use of official agency resources to send partisan political messaging to beneficiaries. With early voting underway, the Social Security Administration sent an email that referenced the president's name 10 times in a brief message. This follows a pattern of similar unsolicited emails in July and August 2025, each using official SSA communications to promote Republican political priorities.
Democratic senators already wrote to Bisignano in July warning that the agency was "bombarding Americans with blatantly partisan emails." He ignored them. The latest email even adopted the GOP's clumsy rebranding of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act as the "Working Families Tax Cuts," laundering a political messaging strategy through a federal agency that millions of Americans depend on for accurate information.
People receiving official SSA correspondence should be able to trust it. When that trust is weaponized for electioneering, it corrupts the agency's credibility and leaves seniors second-guessing every future message they get about their own benefits. This has to stop.
