I am writing to strongly urge you to vote NO on the current budget bill. This legislation is fiscally reckless, politically cowardly, and morally indefensible. Adding trillions to the deficit to pay for tax cuts for billionaires is not just irresponsible—it’s disgraceful. You know this - and so do your constituents. Working families are struggling to afford food, housing, and health care while you’re being asked to rubber-stamp a giveaway to the ultra-wealthy. This isn’t a Democrat vs Republican issue, it’s a morality issue - right vs wrong. Even Senator Thom Tillis had the backbone to stand up and say enough is enough. What excuse do you have? If he can do the right thing, why can’t you? Your failure to stand up to Donald Trump on this bill makes you look spineless. Enough with the party politics! Enough with bending the knee to Trump! People across the political spectrum are tired of performative outrage and empty promises. They want integrity. They want accountability. Additionally, you claim to be a Christian and uphold Christian values. How is giving to the rich and ignoring the poor EVER in line with the teachings of Jesus? Or does separation of church and state only apply when it’s beneficial to your own personal agenda? The hypocrisy and empty values of the GOP is what is driving people away from the church! You are about to make a choice: Either stand up for everyday Americans or cave—again—to pressure from Trump and his billionaire backers. If you vote for this budget bill, don’t expect support from those of us who care about fiscal responsibility, working people, or basic human rights. We are watching and we vote.
