Oppose Any Military Action Against Cuba

To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Maloy

From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT

March 17

You must publicly oppose any military action against Cuba and demand that President Trump clarify that the United States will not invade or occupy the island. His statement Monday that he has the right to do "anything" with Cuba, whether "freeing it or taking it," is a dangerous escalation that threatens another catastrophic war. We are already three weeks into a military campaign against Iran that has killed hundreds, including 13 American service members, with no clear objectives and no end in sight. Oil prices have surged as Iranian forces closed the Strait of Hormuz with sea mines, disrupting 20 percent of the world's oil tanker traffic. The administration refuses to explain what it has achieved or what victory looks like. Now Senator Graham is declaring that Cuba is next, and Trump is openly musing about "taking" a sovereign nation. This is not what America's military exists to do. We are not an empire. Congress has the constitutional authority to prevent this madness, and you need to use it. Speak out now before another reckless war becomes inevitable.
