Please shut off Enbridge's current Line 5 immediately!   Please deny Enbridge's future pipeline reroute plans for Line 5. Enbridges Line 5 has been illegally operating, trespassing on the Bad River Band's lands, of the Lake Superior Chippewa Reservation, for 12 years  The easements they originally secured from the band expired in 2013, yet they are still operating that illegal pipeline, and risking catastrophic environmental damage to the tribe's lands, water, and food. The Western District of Wisconsin has  ruled the pipeline was illegally trespassing in 2022, and in 2023 ordered it shut down within three years.  It's still running, it must be shut down! Enbridge has sought to reroute the pipeline 41 miles.  That reroute plan would compromise 200 waterbodies and impacts over 100 wetlands.  It also potentially compromises the Bad River Bands rice beds; these vulnerable people need a break from Enbridge endangering their homes, food, water, and families. The construction of the planned reroute alone, will devastate countless streams, wetlands, rice beds, and habitats. Apparently, the Department of Natural Resources issued initial construction permits for Enbridge’s reroute plans.  This must be halted, and the approval revoked. The Great lakes is the primary source of fresh water in the US, it must be protected! We cannot continue to risk our water, and natural environments for this outdated and misguided attachment to dangerous fossil fuels.  We need to cut loose fossil fuels, and the rich oil companies that toy with our politicians, and our lives. Enbridge as a company, is untrustable. They are already operating illegally.  They refuse to shutdown, even after they've been found guilty of trespassing, and operating illegally.  This is clearly unscrupulous; it would be folly to trust any future business dealings, or promises for environmental protections from Enbridge, whether for operation, or construction.  They are showing now, they only care about making money, not who they compromise, or endanger. We cannot wait for the water for most of our nation, to be irrevocably contaminated, we need to act now.  We need to protect our environment, while there's still something there to protect.   Please shutdown Line 5 immediately! Deny Enbridge's line 5 reroute!!
