Attempting to annex Greenland is a red line that should never be crossed. If Trump tries to take Greenland by force, he must immediately be removed from office.
We urgently need your voices to make the seriousness of this clear before any further threats or actions. An executive action to unilaterally seize foreign territory would bypass Congress's authority. That must not be allowed to happen. Congress is endanger of becoming nothing more than a rubber stamp.
Any annexation of Greenland endangers the world order by emboldening Russia and China to move forward with their aggressive territorial grabs. be allowed to happen.
Any agreement without Senate approval would violate the Treaty Clause: which requires the advice and consent of two-thirds of the Senate (Article II, Section 2).
An attempt to forcibly take Greenland would also violate the United Nations Charter: This cornerstone of modern international law, the UN Charter, explicitly prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state. Article 2(4) states, "All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against
the territorial integrity or political independence of any state..."
It is on your shoulders to prevent the United States from becoming more of a rogue state than it already is.
