Authoritarian Abuse Demands Immediate Action
To: Rep. Downing
From: A constituent in Havre, MT
January 4
I am writing as a Montana citizen to express my outrage at the direction this country is being dragged.
The United States has invaded Venezuela and seized its president and first lady based on accusations so transparently hypocritical they insult the intelligence of the public. This from an administration that pardoned a convicted drug trafficker who admitted to flooding our country with cocaine.
At the same time, this President has illegally deported U.S. citizens, used the military against American cities, and now escalated into foreign war. These are not isolated incidents — they are a pattern of authoritarian abuse.
This is no longer about party.
This is about safety, legality, and constitutional survival.
Donald Trump’s behavior is erratic, reckless, and dangerous. From pardoning insurrectionists, to corruption, to cognitive decline, to war — he is no longer fit to be President. The 25th Amendment exists for exactly this moment.
I want to know what action you will take to oppose further aggression, defend American citizens, and uphold the Constitution. Because silence now is not neutrality — it is surrender.
Montana deserves better.
