Repeal unjust laws threatening legal residents' rights

To: Rep. Goodlander, Sen. Hassan, Sen. Shaheen

From: A constituent in Hollis, NH

May 9

The Trump administration's policies targeting legal immigrants and tourists for deportation are alarming and unjust. Green card holders no longer feel safe due to the administration's broad interpretation of regulations like the Alien Enemies Act and Section 237 of the INA. These outdated laws grant excessive authority to determine who poses a "threat" based on speech, enabling potential abuse and violation of civil liberties. To uphold due process and protect the rights of lawful residents, I urge the repeal of the Alien Enemies Act and an amendment to Section 237 to prevent its misuse for suppressing free speech. Legal immigrants contribute immensely to our nation and should not live in fear of deportation without justifiable cause.
