The government's decision to appoint Elon Musk as a "special government employee" raises significant ethical concerns. Granting a billionaire tech mogul with enormous personal financial interests unfettered access to critical government systems is a blatant conflict of interest. Musk's companies have received billions in federal contracts and subsidies, casting doubt on his ability to act impartially in the public's best interest. The conflicts of interest law prohibits government employees from participating in matters affecting their own finances. However, the administration's close ties with Musk call into question whether these rules will be properly enforced. I urge you to exercise robust oversight to ensure Musk does not abuse his privileged position for private gain at the expense of the American people. Unfettered corporate influence over government policy undermines democracy and public faith in institutions. Please take action to uphold ethics standards and curtail this undue access before further damage is done.
