I urge you to vote no on the SAVE Act. Its overreaching requirements make voting out of reach for almost half of the electorate. As a married woman who did the traditional thing and took my husband’s last name, my married name does not match my birth certificate. Luckily I have a passport, but half of the American public does not.
This act would disenfranchise millions of voters, a lot of whom belong to your party. Not everyone can afford the time, effort and money that it would cost to gather the documents needed under this act. Luckily my family members and friends already have the necessary documents and we will be voting against you at the next opportunity.
It is time for you to choose country over party. It is time for you to uphold your oath to protect and defend the constitution. Stop blindly following a fascist corrupt narcissist and start working on behalf of your constituents.
And by the way, a 1 percent margin of victory is not a “mandate.” Democrats did very well in the recent special elections in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Florida. The voters are paying attention and we don’t like what Trump and Musk are doing to this country.
