Shutdown
To: Rep. Edwards
From: A constituent in Weaverville, NC
October 29
I’m writing to express my alarm that millions of low-income families who rely on SNAP and WIC are at risk of hunger because Republicans refuse to use the contingency funds they have to pay for SNAP. Also millions of Americans may not be able to afford their health insurance policies soon if Congress doesn’t agree to a permanent extension of the ACA tax credits. We’re running out of time. Republicans need to come back to DC and work with Democrats to pass a bill now to ensure that hungry Americans don’t lose their nutritional assistance and working Americans don’t lose their healthcare. It should not be a trade off- food or health care.
I also would like to know if you are accepting your paycheck during the shutdown.
