Tell the executive branch HANDS OFF the lives of real Utahns!

To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Owens

From: A constituent in Lehi, UT

April 20

Yesterday, I attended a peaceful 50501 protest in Provo, UT. This was the first time I've been to a political protest. There were a few hundred people with signs, chanting, listening to speeches, and waving to cars driving past. Many drivers honked as they passed the protesters, showing their support for the cause. I took a dry erase whiteboard with the words HANDS OFF! taped on it, as well as markers to let protesters write on the board. These are the things that real Utahns, young and old, wrote that they want the Trump/Musk administration to keep their hands off of: - My LGBTQ kids! - our parks - my patients!! - non-profit funding - private data - due process - free speech - my country - science - my future! - our democracy - our freedom - my uterus!!! - LGBTQ rights - all our lives - our earth - my trans friends - social security - my wheels (from a person in a wheelchair) - bodies - checks + balances - our constitution - national parks - our pronouns - our freedom - veterans - PBS - medical research - civil servants - our public lands - immigrants - my school - Ukraine - our public transit - our kids' future - our books I think that they came up with a pretty good list. I ask you to stand up for their priorities, rather than the culture-war nonsense that the White House is pushing. You have a responsibility to act as a check on the power of the executive branch, and I ask that you exercise your own constitutional powers to do so.
