Feed the hungry
To: Sen. Barrasso
From: A constituent in Cheyenne, WY
November 7, 2025
I am a registered Republican in Wyoming. I have lived here my entire life. There are over 29,000 people who receive SNAP benefits in Wyoming.
Despite the fact that the USDA has the emergency funds, and that during all other shutdowns, SNAP was funded, by law SNAP must be funded, a judge ordered the USDA to fund it, and that people need it, you refuse to ensure hungry people are fed. This sure seems like a way to squeeze the Democrats into caving on healthcare.
You stand with Republican leadership as they are cruel to the people who need the most assistance. Cruelty seems to be the point. You have power in this. You have the responsibility as a powerful member of the senate- to do what is right. Feed the people and help them keep their healthcare. I will never understand how you can look out at all your constituents and refuse to help them.
You need to make the house understand that what they are doing is cruel, disgusting, disgraceful behavior. Do not kill the filibuster. Work with your colleagues to open the government. Feed people, and give them healthcare. Feeding people and keeping them healthy isn’t just about being soft hearted and the right thing to do, but you fiscal minded folks should look at the data. Statistics show that a healthy population is a sound investment. The economy does better. People spend more money.
When republicans refuse to negotiate on healthcare and food- it shows the cruelty that is inherent in the MAGA regime. How can you sleep at night knowing you are complicit in the suffering of millions of people?
The USA has enough money to feed, house, and provide healthcare to everyone, yet you do nothing. You should be ashamed. I am ashamed for you. If you want to do the right thing, feed people, and help them. This is your fault
