A national abortion ban would endanger the health and lives of pregnant people across the country by denying access to critical reproductive healthcare, including miscarriage management which involves the same medical procedures as an abortion. With miscarriages affecting up to 20% of pregnancies, many women are scared to get pregnant due to fear of not being able to receive proper care in the event of a miscarriage under strict abortion bans. Abortion must remain a legal and accessible option to protect bodily autonomy and prevent unsafe methods when faced with an unwanted, nonviable, or life-threatening pregnancy. People deserve the right to make their own personal medical decisions without government overreach. I urge you to reject any legislation seeking to criminalize abortion at the federal level and instead work to safeguard access to comprehensive reproductive care for all Americans. The majority of the public supports upholding abortion rights - please stand on the right side of this issue.
