I strongly object to Elon Musk and his Doge team being granted access to the federal payments system that controls the flow of trillions of dollars in government funds annually. It is deeply concerning that a private citizen with no official government role has been given this level of influence over such a critical financial infrastructure. The federal payments system handles nearly $6 trillion for vital programs like Social Security and government salaries. Allowing politically-motivated meddling by unelected individuals risks severe economic damage and threatens the full faith and credit of the United States. A longtime Treasury official was abruptly removed for resisting this highly irregular arrangement. Musk's broad mandate to slash federal spending should not extend to manipulating the payments backbone of the entire government. This is an unacceptable overreach that undermines democratic accountability. I urge you to take immediate action to revoke Musk's team's access and uphold the integrity of this essential system that millions of Americans rely upon.
