The Insurrection Act allows the president to deploy military forces domestically, effectively using them as a national police force. This represents a dangerous erosion of civil liberties and a step towards authoritarian rule. History has shown that when the military enforces domestic policies, it can quickly devolve into oppression of citizens. We must uphold the democratic principles that separate civilian and military authority. Invoking this Act would be an abuse of power that undermines fundamental American values. I urge you to take decisive action to prevent the militarization of law enforcement and defend our constitutional rights against executive overreach. The military exists to protect the nation from foreign threats, not police the populace - that road leads to tyranny we cannot allow.
