Stop KCATA from Adding AI Facial Recognition to Buses
To: Rep. Cleaver
From: A constituent in Kansas City, MO
June 20
I recently learned about how KCATA is planning on putting AI facial recognition in our buses and I have deep privacy concerns about this. https://www.kctv5.com/2026/06/18/kansas-city-deploy-ai-facial-recognition-buses/
This seems like a 4th Amendment violation and the American public is tired of constant surveillance. Additionally, AI is not advanced enough for use cases like this and has been proven to make mistakes more frequently with facial recognition for folks with darker skin tones, so we should definitely not be using it to determine who should ride our buses. I urge you to intervene and prevent this and other forms of AI surveillance of American citizens.
