Pass legislation requiring crisis pregnancy centers to clearly disclose that they are not licensed medical clinics. Right now, Wisconsin has over 54 of these facilities operating under names that imply medical legitimacy — while most lack licensed clinical staff, ignore medical ethics, and actively spread false health information. A person walking in deserves to know upfront what they're walking into.
The deception has real consequences. These centers have told patients that abortion increases breast cancer risk by 50% — a claim with no scientific basis — and that birth control is an abortion pill, which is flatly wrong according to the WHO. They collect private health data and share it with national organizations that use it to harass patients, sometimes for years. Wisconsin taxpayers have already sent $123,800 to fund these operations since 2025. The least we can do is require honest disclosure on the front door.
