To My Governor and State Legislators,
You may think Gaza is a federal issue — something for Washington to handle — but make no mistake: your silence is political, and it speaks just as loudly as your votes.
Right now, over 30,000 Palestinians have been killed. Entire families wiped out. Hospitals bombed. Children starved. And the U.S. — including our state — is still complicit. Through investments, contracts, and policies, we are funding and normalizing genocide.
Your role may not be in foreign policy, but your platform matters. Your voice matters. Your budget matters. Your silence matters.
While the federal government sends billions to fund war crimes, we struggle for affordable housing, schools, healthcare, and clean water here at home. If you won’t speak out on moral grounds, then at least consider this: your voters are watching.
We are tracking which state officials:
• Stay silent while children die.
• Support anti-BDS laws that criminalize protest and boycott.
• Refuse to pass resolutions calling for a ceasefire.
• Hide behind federal talking points instead of standing up for justice.
If you can condemn violence in other parts of the world, if you can make statements after international tragedies — then you can speak up now. If not, we will remember who stayed quiet while Gaza burned.
This is not about politics. It’s about human life — and your legacy.
We demand you:
• Publicly call for a permanent ceasefire.
• Review and cancel state contracts with arms manufacturers or Israeli military tech firms.
• Protect the right to boycott and protest without state interference.
• Divest public pension funds from companies profiting from war crimes.
Do the right thing — or be remembered for doing nothing at all.
Sincerely,
