Reject Collegiate Discrimination, Uphold Inclusion and Diversity Efforts

To: Rep. Ciscomani

From: A verified voter in Tucson, AZ

HB7683 – The Discriminatory Campus Policy Act The troubling HB7683 bill poses a grave threat to inclusivity and equality on college campuses by legally shielding single-sex organizations like fraternities and sororities from consequences should they discriminate against transgender students. This profoundly undermines principles of non-discrimination and cultivating safe, supportive environments for all students. Moreover, its ambiguous wording regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion programs provides a pathway to dismantle these vital initiatives under pretense of violating this discriminatory law. Institutions of higher education ought to be havens where every student feels genuinely welcomed and accepted, not places where certain groups face legalized exclusion due to their gender identity. Reject this regressive legislation promoting discrimination and harming the wellbeing of transgender students. Uphold values celebrating inclusion, protect vulnerable populations, and preserve diversity efforts enriching our colleges and universities.
