The administration has reaffirmed their stance that deporting US citizens is something they want to and are more than willing to do.
Let's be clear. They have already reported someone "by mistake" and now have taken the stance that there is no recourse, no way to return this innocent person to the country, to their family.
I have a very common name. Decades ago I found that there is some list somewhere that includes some variation of my name. I am and have always been a US citizen, born and raised. I have trouble renewing my driver's license through no fault of my own. And I have been a vocal opposite this administration's policies.
I'm afraid to travel near any US borders. Each time I write a letter to you about this administration I worry that there is a ledger where the ink is getting closer to red an I will be targeted next for deportation "by accident" to someplace I will never return from.
I have no criminal record, but that won't matter. Lawyers with no criminal record have been targeted coming back into the country. People are being disappeared off the streets with no access to lawyers or hearings. Deported never to be seen again.
What are you going to do to stand up to this lawless administration?
