Ban and remove flock cameras and similar ones

To: Gov. McMaster, Rep. Vaughan, Sen. Turner

From: A verified voter in Greenville, SC

August 9

I urge you to ban Flock Safety and similar surveillance networks and dismantle existing systems immediately. These unchecked mass surveillance tools are actively being abused. Bad actors and law enforcement have misused license plate databases to stalk ex-partners, harass activists, and wrongfully arrest innocent citizens based on flawed tech. This dragnet surveillance violates our privacy rights and disproportionately harms marginalized communities. We cannot allow private corporations to profit from constant tracking. Please introduce legislation to ban these providers, terminate municipal contracts, and mandate the deletion of all collected data. 1984’s big brother was a warning, not a model to follow.
