Demand Immediate Removal of HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

To: Rep. Tran

From: A constituent in Garden Grove, CA

September 5

The recent turmoil at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s leadership has reached a critical point that demands immediate action. As a concerned citizen, I urge you to call for Secretary Kennedy's resignation or removal from office. Over 1,000 current and former HHS employees have taken the extraordinary step of writing an open letter condemning Secretary Kennedy's actions. They accuse him of "endangering the nation's health" through his mismanagement and politically motivated decisions. This unprecedented move by career public health professionals should not be ignored. The upheaval at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is particularly alarming. The recent firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez and other key resignations have left our nation's premier public health agency in disarray at a time when we need strong, science-based leadership. Furthermore, nine former CDC directors have publicly criticized Kennedy's decisions in a New York Times op-ed, highlighting the severity of the situation. Of grave concern are the changes to vaccine approvals and recommendations under Kennedy's tenure. These alterations threaten to undermine decades of progress in public health and put countless Americans at risk of preventable diseases. The elevation of political ideologues to key positions within HHS represents a dangerous departure from evidence-based policymaking. Public health decisions should be guided by science and expertise, not political agendas. While HHS Communications Director Andrew Nixon claims Kennedy has accomplished more than any health secretary in history, the evidence suggests otherwise. The mass exodus of experienced professionals and the chorus of criticism from public health experts paint a picture of an agency in crisis. As Secretary Kennedy prepares to testify before the Senate Finance Committee, I implore you to demand answers about the turmoil at HHS and to push for his immediate removal. The health and safety of our nation depend on competent, science-driven leadership at HHS. We cannot afford to let political ideology compromise our public health infrastructure. Act now to protect our nation's health. Call for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s resignation or removal as HHS Secretary before more damage is done to our vital public health institutions.
