Support HB3726: Open Fisher Houses to TRICARE Beneficiaries

To: Sen. Lee, Rep. Owens, Sen. Curtis

From: A verified voter in West Jordan, UT

May 15

Vote yes on HB3726, the Fisher House Availability Act of 2026. Active-duty military families, retirees, and their dependents who travel long distances for care under TRICARE currently have no access to Fisher House facilities — even when beds sit empty. This bill fixes that gap without spending a dime on new construction or new appropriations. The fix is simple: TRICARE beneficiaries get access on a space-available basis only, so veterans and their families always come first. The Fisher Houses already exist, already donated to the VA by the Fisher House Foundation. This bill just makes sure those facilities aren't sitting unused while a military family is paying out of pocket for a hotel room near a civilian hospital. The administrative lift on the VA is minimal — updated eligibility protocols, nothing more. This is a no-cost, common-sense expansion of support for the military community. Pass HB3726.
