Support the Release Of Liam Ramos and His Father
To: Rep. Edwards
From: A constituent in Waynesville, NC
January 30
I am writing to respectfully urge you to intervene on behalf of Liam Ramos and his father, who are currently being held in ICE detention.
I am deeply concerned about the detention of this family and the hardship it is causing. Prolonged immigration detention inflicts serious emotional, financial, and psychological harm—not only on those detained, but also on their loved ones and community. Families belong together, and detention should never be the default response, especially when there are humane alternatives available.
I respectfully ask that your office review this case and take all possible steps to support the release of Liam Ramos and his father, including the use of prosecutorial discretion, parole, or other forms of relief that would allow them to remain together while their immigration matters are resolved.
Your leadership and advocacy could make an enormous difference in preventing further harm to this family. I hope you will use your position to uphold compassion, due process, and family unity.
Thank you for your time and for your service to our community. I appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and look forward to your response
