Protect Democracy!

To: Gov. Kehoe, Sen. Cierpiot, Rep. Strickler

From: A verified voter in Lees Summit, MO

April 22

As your constituent, I'm reaching out to my legislators because I am appalled at Missouri politicians right now! I expect better from my elected representatives. That's why I insist that you vote NO on SJR 47 and ANY bill that would end majority rule. Missouri has had the constitutional right to the initiative petition process for more than a century. Citizen-led initiatives improve the lives of our neighbors and allow us to have a say on important issues. Democracy means that we all get an equal chance to weigh in. Majority rule is common sense and already the law of the land in Missouri. The initiative petition process belongs to the people of Missouri, not to legislators in Jefferson City. I demand that you vote NO on any bills that end majority rule or undermine the citizen-led initiative petition process.
