No war with Iran
To: Rep. McClellan
From: A constituent in Richmond, VA
June 19
I’m writing as your constituent here in Richmond because I’m deeply concerned about the rising drumbeats of war with Iran. It feels like we’re inching toward another unnecessary conflict, and once we cross that line, history shows it’s nearly impossible to walk it back.
We’ve seen this play before: vague threats, unverified intelligence, sudden escalations. But this time, the stakes are even higher, and the justification is even thinner.
That’s why I’m urging you to take a strong, public stance.
• Demand that Trump—or any president—seek explicit congressional authorization before taking military action.
• Co-sponsor the Massie–Khanna War Powers Resolution. Bipartisan action like this could make the difference between choosing diplomacy or slipping into disaster.
War should never be waged by executive impulse. Not without debate. Not without consent. Not without consequence.
Many of us in your district are watching closely and counting on your leadership.
