An Open Letter
To: Rep. Ciscomani
From: A constituent in Tucson, AZ
February 26, 2025
“Watch what he does, not what he says.” That’s what they’ve warned us to do in terms of Donald Trump. But now, I guess it’s you too?
You voiced concern to Mike Johnson that “slashing Medicaid would have serious consequences, particularly in rural and predominantly Hispanic communities where hospitals and nursing homes are already struggling to keep their doors open,” and yet you put your vote behind the house budget resolution that cuts Medicaid and SNAP benefits by hundreds of millions of dollars. You say you’re tired of deficit spending, and yet you voted for this resolution, which will increase the deficit by 2 trillion dollars over the next 10 years. I believe that’s what we can spineless. If you feel a certain way, in a manner that supports your constituents and their health, why can’t you vote that way? As one of those constituents and an Arizona voter, I am disappointed and resolved to vote you out at the next opportunity. Stop being Trumps flunky.
