Moving forward, don't elect Hakeem Jeffries Speaker. Jeffries has not clearly committed to advancing major progressive proposals. I urge you to choose a new leader who will pursue bold change and give progressive members a meaningful role in setting the agenda. A Speaker should bring the caucus together and ensure that members advocating ambitious policies have a real place in shaping its priorities. Progressive House members have urged Democrats to pursue an ambitious agenda on issues such as health care and workers’ wages. I believe these House members merit consideration: Katherine Clark Greg Casar Pramila Jayapal Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Rashida Tlaib Pete Aguilar Jim Clyburn Delia Ramirez They bring a range of leadership experience and progressive perspectives.
