Demand Immediate Action: Release Judge Hannah Dugan

To: Sen. Moody, Rep. Luna, Sen. Scott

From: A constituent in Clearwater, FL

April 26

I am writing to demand your immediate intervention in the unjust detention of Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan. Arrested by the FBI on April 18, 2025, Judge Dugan is accused of assisting an undocumented immigrant evade ICE agents. This action, while politically charged, raises serious concerns about the overreach of federal authority and the erosion of judicial independence. Judge Dugan, a respected legal professional, allegedly facilitated the departure of Eduardo Flores-Ruiz through a non-public courtroom exit after learning ICE agents were present to arrest him. Despite her efforts, Flores-Ruiz was apprehended outside the courthouse. The charges against Judge Dugan include obstructing a proceeding and concealing an individual to prevent his arrest . This case is not merely about one judge; it is about the fundamental principles that uphold our Constitution. The executive branch must not be permitted to intimidate or undermine the judiciary. The separation of powers is a cornerstone of our democracy, and any attempt to erode this balance must be met with unwavering resistance. I expect you to take immediate and decisive action to demand the release of Judge Dugan. Anything less would be an abdication of your duty to protect the Constitution and the rights of the American people.
