I need you to take immediate action on two fronts: begin impeachment proceedings against Supreme Court justices who have accepted undisclosed gifts and bribes, and pass voting rights legislation strong enough to withstand judicial sabotage. Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh have demonstrated they cannot be trusted with our democracy. Roberts spent his career working to gut the Voting Rights Act and finally succeeded in destroying the crown jewel of the Civil Rights Movement. Thomas and Alito have taken luxury trips and gifts worth hundreds of thousands from billionaires with business before the Court. Kavanaugh's confirmation was tainted by credible allegations that were never properly investigated. These are impeachable offenses, and Congress has the constitutional authority to act. Their assault on voting rights has unleashed chaos. Louisiana suspended congressional primaries to redraw maps locking out Black voters. Florida grabbed four more Republican seats through gerrymandering. Virginia State Senator Louise Lucas, who led redistricting efforts, just had her office raided by the FBI in what looks like political retaliation. This is happening because the Court stripped away federal protections. Write new voting rights legislation with enforcement mechanisms that cannot be dismantled by a corrupt Court. Include automatic voter registration, federal standards for redistricting, and criminal penalties for voter suppression. Our democracy cannot survive this Supreme Court in its current form.
