Free Oglala Sioux Tribe Members from ICE Custody

To: Sen. Budd, Rep. Moore, Sen. Tillis

From: A verified voter in Charlotte, NC

January 15

I am asking you to support the releasing of Oglala Sioux Tribe members from Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. Indigenous peoples of the United States have a longer history here than the average American citizen, that multiple Oglala Sioux people and other federally recognized tribal members have been detained by ICE is disgraceful. After centuries of cultural erasure through disease, the Trail of Tears, forced and unfulfilled treaties; the very least that came before done for Indigenous peoples is to respect their sovereignty, even this has not been done. The Oglala Sioux detainees and any other indigenous detainees of ICE should immediately be released, with compensation. I am asking that you, as a member of congress, publicly support their release and prevent this type of injustice from ever happening again.
