I am writing to express my strong opposition to the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and to urge you to take immediate action against this unconstitutional overreach. This department was not established by the will of the people, nor was it created through proper legislative processes. Instead, it represents a dangerous consolidation of power that bypasses the authority of Congress and undermines our system of checks and balances. The legislative branch is the only body granted the authority to create and oversee government agencies. Yet, DOGE appears to function outside these constitutional boundaries, centralizing decision-making in a way that limits transparency and public accountability. Efficiency in government is a worthy goal, but not at the expense of democratic governance, due process, and legislative oversight. Furthermore, the increasing involvement of Elon Musk in federal decision-making—without any electoral mandate—is deeply concerning. The American people did not vote for him, and yet his influence over government functions continues to grow unchecked. Congress must reassert its role as the primary lawmaking body and prevent unelected individuals or entities from wielding undue power over federal operations. I urge you to: 1. Investigate the establishment and authority of DOGE, ensuring that no government agency operates outside the Constitution. 2. Demand full transparency and oversight over any executive actions that attempt to reorganize federal operations without congressional approval. 3. Reaffirm Congress’s role as the primary lawmaking body and prevent further executive overreach or corporate influence from bypassing democratic processes. The American people expect their elected officials to uphold the Constitution and protect our democracy from unaccountable power structures. I urge you to take swift and decisive action against DOGE and any similar efforts that undermine congressional authority.
