Mohammed Ibrahim

November 26

I am writing today with two questions regarding two separate congressional actions pertaining to Israel's ongoing military occupation of the state of Palestine. The first is to learn the nature of the current detention of Mohammed Ibrahim, a US citizen minor, by the Israeli government. A Congressional letter signed by 27 lawmakers was sent on October 21, 2025 to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ambassador Mike Huckabee asking them to work on obtaining the release of 16- year old U.S. citizen Mohammed Ibrahim, who has been detained in an Israeli prison since February and barred from contact with his family. He was fifteen years old at the time of his arrest. A second letter from Congress signed by over 100 senators and represenatives addressed to Benjamin Netanyahu was sent November 6th requesting that he rescind the demolition orders on a small West Bank village, Umm Al-Kheir. Demolishing this village would make homeless hundreds of peaceful farmers and their families including many children. I am curious why you have not signed on to either letter. I encourage you to take a more active role in securing real, lasting peace in Israel and Palestine, even if this means flouting the wishses of lobbyists like AIPAC, which, as I understand it, donate to your campaign. As a proud taxpayer of Iowa, a state which last year sent more than $120 million in military aid to Israel, I believe we have a right to know how our money is being spent abroad. Thank you, I look forward to a response.
