First, I’m horrified by the Supreme Court ruling yesterday in Louisiana v Callais. I want Congress to pass legislation to create nonpartisan redistricting commissions for every state. Americans are fed up with partisan AND racial gerrymandering. Voters should choose their politicians—not the other way around.
Second, I’m glad the pesticide-protecting provision was removed from the House version of the Farm Bill before they passed it, but it still contains language that preempts Prop 12, which sets food quality and animal welfare standards in some states. I oppose this provision and want it stripped from the bill before the Senator supports it.
Also, I am appalled by Republicans’ bill that would give 140B more to ICE and CBP. Like, disgusted. Americans are broke and struggling, the Iran war has cost 25B so far, and THIS is what Congress is doing with our money? NO WAY. I don’t want any more of my tax dollars going to ICE and Border Patrol. Period.
