The Endangered Species Act protections related to protecting the Gulf of Mexico from oil and gas activities should not be repealed in the name of national security. Two things can be true at the same time - endangered wildlife can be protected while natural resources are harvested. The administration has demonstrated time and time again that their regard for the environment is minimal. Coupled with that any national security issue related to energy availability is solely the responsibility of the administration due to their unauthorized use of force in the Middle East. Congress should assert their role in government and push back on these wide ranging overreach
