The House Ethics Committee's investigation into allegations of misconduct against Representative Matt Gaetz has been ongoing for years. Despite his recent resignation from Congress, transparency and accountability demand that the committee's report be released to the public. There is precedent for releasing such reports even after a member has left office. The findings are a matter of public interest and should not be suppressed simply because Mr. Gaetz is no longer serving. Releasing the report upholds principles of ethics and oversight that are vital to maintaining trust in government institutions. Concealing the conclusions would only fuel skepticism and doubt. As representatives of the people, the Ethics Committee has a duty to make this information available so that all can judge the situation for themselves based on the evidence uncovered during the investigation.
