Block the Trump Impeachment Expungement Resolution

To: Sen. Rosen, Rep. Titus, Sen. Cortez Masto

From: A verified voter in Henderson, NV

June 13

Vote against any resolution to expunge or void Donald Trump's impeachments. Even Speaker Mike Johnson has admitted this move would be purely symbolic — the Constitution provides no legal mechanism to nullify an impeachment, and legal experts agree it won't erase the historical record. So why waste congressional time and political capital on theater? Trump was impeached twice by the House — once for abusing his power by withholding Ukraine aid, and once for inciting the January 6 attack on the Capitol. Those votes happened. They are history. A resolution pretending otherwise doesn't change facts; it just forces every Republican on the record defending conduct that a majority of the House found impeachable. Rep. Don Bacon, a retiring Republican colleague, has already warned this will not be well received and that the party should focus on substantive work instead. This is exactly right. Constituents want action on real issues, not a loyalty ritual for a president who already served two terms. Kill this resolution.
