I am writing to express my deep concern and outrage over reports that Grok AI, operated on X.com, is being used to generate sexualized or near-nude images of women from photos in which they are fully clothed—without their consent. Even more disturbing, this technology has reportedly been used to create such images of minors.
This behavior is reprehensible. It represents a profound violation of privacy, bodily autonomy, and human dignity. If existing laws do not already prohibit this conduct, then Congress has a moral and legal obligation to act immediately to close those gaps. The nonconsensual sexualization of individuals—especially children—through AI tools should be explicitly illegal and treated with the severity it deserves.
Technology companies must not be allowed to hide behind claims of neutrality or innovation when their products are actively enabling abuse. Elon Musk, as the owner and public face of X and Grok, should be required to answer for these practices under oath before Congress. Accountability is not optional when harm at this scale is occurring.
I strongly urge you to:
Support or introduce legislation banning nonconsensual AI-generated sexual imagery, with enhanced penalties when minors are involved.
Demand congressional hearings into Grok AI and similar systems.
Suspend and terminate all government contracts or partnerships involving Grok or X until meaningful safeguards, transparency, and enforcement mechanisms are in place.
The rapid advancement of AI does not excuse inaction. Failure to act now signals tolerance of abuse and exploitation. Please treat this matter with the urgency it warrants and make clear that no corporation or individual is above the law.
Sincerely,
