SAY NO TO Colorado House Bill 25-1169
To: Gov. Polis, Sen. Liston, Rep. DeGraaf
From: A constituent in Colorado Springs, CO
February 22
🚨 URGENT: Colorado Democrats Are About to Hand Christian Nationalists a Major Victory 🚨 Colorado House Bill 25-1169 is being sold as a solution to the housing crisis—but in reality, it’s a gift to #Christiannationalist groups looking to expand their power and reshape communities like Woodland Park. This bill would allow faith-based organizations to bypass zoning laws and fast-track housing developments on their land. That might sound like a positive step—until you consider how Christian nationalist organizations, like Andrew Wommack’s #CharisBibleCollege, are already using land acquisition as a tool to take over local governments and dismantle public education. 🔥 What could this bill enable? ➡️ Religious Enclaves – Could churches create housing that serves only their own members, forming ideological strongholds that make it easier to dominate local politics? ➡️ Parallel Christian Institutions – If churches control housing, could they pressure tenants into enrolling their children in religious schools instead of public ones? ➡️ Tax-Free Expansion of Christian Nationalism – With churches already exempt from property taxes, would this bill allow them to profit from housing while avoiding taxation, giving them an unfair advantage over secular organizations? ➡️ A Blueprint for More Takeovers – Given that Andrew Wommack’s network has already used land ownership to infiltrate local government, wouldn’t this bill make it even easier for them to build power? This isn’t speculation—it’s already happening in Woodland Park. Democrats pushing this bill either don’t understand how Christian nationalists operate, or they’re choosing to ignore the consequences. This bill must not be passed as-is. Legislators need to add safeguards to prevent religious groups from using taxpayer subsidies to establish political and ideological fiefdoms. Housing reform should help everyone—not serve as a vehicle for Christian nationalism. The discriminatory aspects of the bill should also be removed. At the very least these new advantages should be made accessible by *all* nonprofit organizations, not just religious ones. 🛑 Do NOT hand Christian nationalists a legal pathway to take over our communities.
