Oppose Fast-Tracking Foreign Mining Project That Ignores Community Concerns

To: Sen. Curtis, Sen. Lee, Rep. Owens

From: A verified voter in West Jordan, UT

April 7

Vote no on Pete Stauber's resolution to fast-track approval for this foreign mining company. This process ignores 98% of the people you're supposed to represent. Fast-tracking a toxic mine for a foreign corporation while sidelining community input is not representation. It's a giveaway. The communities that will live with the environmental and health consequences of this mine deserve more than to be steamrolled by special interests with deep pockets. This mine will leave behind contaminated water, damaged ecosystems, and health risks that outlast any short-term economic promises. Meanwhile, the profits flow overseas. When you prioritize a foreign company's timeline over your constituents' safety and their right to be heard, you're not serving the public interest. Reject this resolution. Demand a full, transparent process that actually includes the people who will bear the costs of this decision.
