I am deeply concerned about the Trump administration's freeze on federal grants and loans. This action risks disrupting critical programs and services that rely on federal funding. I am on contract at a university and that contract is funded by the National Science Foundation, so I am directly affected and cannot be paid now. Additionally, vital services that are federally funded - at the nonprofit, local, and state levels - may have to shut down. These funds were duly appropriated by Congress, and this administrative coup must be stopped. Checks and balances must be preserved. The Trump administration is trying to shock, overwhelm, and terrify us. I voted for you because I trust you to stand up and speak out. Judge Loren AliKhan's stay only runs through Monday.
