Via Michael Hodges - Author The Trump administration’s aggressive push to turn federal public lands over to corporations for artificial intelligence data centers, cemented by Executive Order 14318 (Accelerating Federal Permitting of Data Center Infrastructure), is a direct assault on our shared American heritage. Under this directive by the White House and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, federal agencies like the Bureau of Land Management have been pressured to scout public lands for industrial development, bypassing critical environmental reviews and shutting local communities out of the process. Bureau of Land Management territory sits a mere 15 to 25 miles from the doorsteps of America’s soul, the fragile wildlife corridors, vital watersheds, and wild ecosystems buffering national treasures like Yellowstone and Yosemite. Fast tracking industrial sprawl on surrounding public land puts immediate pressure right on the edge of these iconic national parks. Public lands belong to the people, not to corporate monopolies looking to bulldoze our natural heritage for AI warehouses.
