I serve on the faculty of a Virginia university, and I am heartbroken for my students who have had their job offers rescinded by the federal government. Many of these students had *unpaid* summer internships, so the concept that these decisions are to save costs is completely disingenuous.
These decisions are intended to break the federal government and hurt those who have chosen federal service as their path. These decisions have been executed by a department never approved by Congress, led by a man never confirmed by Congress directing a team without security clearances or oversight.
Do not abdicate your responsibilities as a member of an empowered branch of our tripartite system of government.
Stop the chaos, cruelty, mismanagement, and unconstitutional overreach of DOGE.
