I am writing to urge you to take a stand at the upcoming State of the Union address on March 4. Given the current state of affairs and the ongoing concerns many of us share, I encourage you and your colleagues to either boycott the event entirely or walk out en masse as the President approaches the microphone. This symbolic action would send a powerful message that we do not support the dismantling of our democracy.
By refusing to participate or by staging a unified walkout, you can demonstrate that the people oppose this dismantling of our democracy. This is an opportunity to show your constituents that you are willing to take a bold stance rather than offering tacit approval through attendance.
As your constituent, I urge you to make this moment count. We need leaders who will stand firm against this administration and fight for accountability and integrity in government.
I appreciate your service and look forward to seeing whether you and your colleagues take action on March 4.
