Protect trans healthcare: don't let discrimination sneak into the NDAA

To: Sen. Van Hollen, Sen. Cardin, Rep. Ruppersberger

From: A constituent in Parkville, MD

December 10

The discriminatory provision targeting transgender youth in the National Defense Authorization Act is unacceptable. Denying medically necessary healthcare to children of servicemembers serves no purpose other than causing harm. Extensive research shows that gender-affirming care significantly improves mental health outcomes and reduces suicidality for transgender individuals. This lifesaving care should be accessible, not banned. I urge you to oppose this cruel provision that attacks military families and vote against any legislation that codifies discrimination against transgender people into law. Our servicemembers and their families deserve our full support, not to have vital healthcare stripped away due to harmful political agendas. Protect the rights and wellbeing of all military families by rejecting this unjust measure.
