I am thrilled that Congress is once again considering bills to end the changing of the clocks for daylight savings time. Changing the clocks twice a year is disruptive to people’s lives, and causes more accidents and health problems than if we just left the clocks the same. I am, however, STRONGLY against setting permanent Daylight Savings Time. This will force us to permanently go against biology, and leave 90% of the US population in darkness until well after 8 am in the winter. This is dangerous in many ways, from children going to school in the dark, to the heart attacks and traffic accidents that will be caused as a result. I encourage you to support H.R.9638 - Sunshine for Our Kids Act of 2026 and the Senate bill that hopefully follows, and to not support a change to permanent Daylight Savings Time. Thank you.
