"A lot of people can complain right now about President Trump and what he's doing, and that's fine. But you know what I saw? I saw President Trump get the popular vote, I saw him get the electoral college, and what that told me is that this country voted for this man to put us on a better trajectory than what Sleepy Joe (Biden) did ruining us and crushing our economy the way that he did." Would you know what I SAW, as an independent voter and your constituent? I saw a "popular" vote that was under 50% -- 49.78% to Harris' 48.23% (source: U.S. Election Atlas). Trump had 77,284,118 votes in 2024; "Sleepy" Joe Biden had more votes than that in 2020 (source: https://www.cfr.org/article/2024-election-numbers). Conclusion: this is NOT a mandate by any stretch of the imagination. I saw an electorate where only 32% voted for Trump, and the other 68% either voted for Harris, voted for a third party candidate, or were eligible to vote but did not vote. 32% of the vote IS NOT a mandate. And now I see a country headed straight into a recession because of a petty on-again/off-again ego-driven tariff game. You can't blame that on Joe Biden. So, as an independent voter who lives in your district, I respectfully ask that you stop with the Trump bootlicking and ring kissing, hold an actual town hall that is not a ticketed event at a bar, and face the real problems that your constituents are dealing with.
