I am writing to you today with a deep sense of urgency and concern. As a Minnesotan and a citizen who cares deeply about our environment, I am terrified by the recent actions taken by President Trump and his allies to roll back protections for our public lands — particularly the sacred Boundary Waters. The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is more than just a beautiful place. It’s a vital, protected ecosystem that sustains wildlife, supports clean water sources, and provides food security and recreational opportunities for generations. This is not just about preserving natural beauty — it’s about defending one of the last truly wild places in our country, and protecting the clean water it provides for our communities. Allowing increased logging or weakening environmental regulations in this region is reckless and short-sighted. It puts biodiversity, climate resilience, and Indigenous and local communities at risk. Once we damage these ecosystems, we cannot undo it. I’m asking you, as my elected representative, to do everything in your power to stop these dangerous rollbacks. Please stand up for Minnesota’s public lands, support legislation that permanently protects the Boundary Waters, and push back against any executive actions that threaten our natural heritage. We need strong leaders right now to defend what matters. I urge you to be one of them. Thank you for your time and for your service.
